Job Summary:
The Network L3 Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our advanced network infrastructure for our client(s). This role requires a deep understanding of networking protocols, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure to resolve complex network issues. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with multi-vendor network equipment, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Must have Core Technical Skills –
1. Advanced Networking Protocols: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, ISIS. Routing and switching concepts at an expert level
2. Network Design and Architecture: Experience designing scalable, high-availability network infrastructures. Capacity planning and performance optimization
3. Firewall and Security: Proficient with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA). VPNs (IPSec, SSL), ACLs, NAT, IDS/IPS
4. Load Balancing and Redundancy: Knowledge of F5, Citrix NetScaler, or similar appliances. HA protocols like HSRP, VRRP, GLBP
5. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Tools: Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG & Strong analytical skills for packet capture analysis. Core Data Center Network Skills.
Good to have Core Technical Skills –
1. High-Level Routing & Switching: Deep understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols: STP, VTP, HSRP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN. Fabric Path, OTV, and other data center-specific technologies
2. Data Center Network Design: Spine-leaf architecture. Layer 2/3 segmentation and scalable designs. Multitenancy (VRF, VLANs, overlay/underlay networks).
3. Data Center Technologies: Cisco Nexus (5k/7k/9k) platforms. ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure). Juniper QFX/EX, Arista platforms. EVPN/VXLAN for modern data center fabrics
4. Security & Segmentation: Micro segmentation (e.g., using Cisco ACI or NSX). Integration with firewalls and network access control (NAC)
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on experience on Network Technologies – Routing, Switching, Firewall, Load Balancers, Wireless Network.
- Experience on Network designing, Architecting, Troubleshooting, Integrations.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues within defined timelines.
- Strong expertise in core and edge IP routing technologies (IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, OSPF, MPLS – RSVP, LDP, etc. / VPLS / VPWS, IP VPN, QoS, Security)
- Hands-on experience on Cisco Nexus, ASR/ISR, SDN, SD-WAN, IPSEC, SWITCHING.
- Hands-on experience on Network & Server Load Balancer, Wan Optimization devices.
- Hands-On experience on Next-Gen Firewalls like Palo Alto, Cisco FP features
- Knowledge of VPN, MPLS, ILL, L2/L3 Circuits configuration/Troubleshooting’s.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, ITIL or equivalent are highly preferred.
